Blue Apron Meal Planning
I love to cook, but the end of the school year is killing the ability to meal plan. Which was why I was stoked to try Blue Apron for the first time.
Blue Apron is a weekly meal delivery service that sends pre-portioned, fresh ingredients directly to your door. You can choose a variety of different meals before your order ships. I let the kids help me pick out our meals for the week and they actually were adventurous with their choices. Like, Seared Salmon and Lemon Labneh, Fontina-Stuffed Pork Chops and Chicken with Roasted Veggies and Italian Dressing.
You can choose upon ordering whether you need a family service each week or meals for only 2 people.
Because everything comes in one box, it is easy to chop, toss and plate each meal. Also, Blue Apron has a business model of working with farmers, fisheries and ranchers to provide great food for amazing food sourcing options. And the food waste is almost non-existent.
The Food With Blue Apron Meal Planning
The salmon was delicious and even the roasted kale was devoured by everyone-including the eight year old!
The kids were fascinated by the little, individual ingredients and with some supervision, they chopped, simmered and stirred almost everything in the kitchen. We got three meals in our kit and while we could have waited and made everything over the course of a week, we decided to make everything at once.
It didn’t take us very long to make all three meals and store the other two for later in the week. What little effort it took to make all three meals made up in spades later that week when we were running late!
Allowing them to have a choice in picking and cooking their food was such a fun way for us to get dinner on the table and spend some time family time together.
Blue Apron now has an great offer code for anyone who is wanting to give it a try. Here is a fantastic coupon to get you started on a new cooking journey.
