NaNoWriMo Preparation – Proper Hydration
National Novel Writing Month is coming up in November. It is a writing challenge that pushes writers to write enough words every day for 30 days to finish a novel.
I have started NaNoWriMo for the last two years and I have never finished. Eventually, I have finished novels, but never have I written a novel inside of a month.
I am really hoping this year will be different.
In order to properly be prepared, I have been making a list of things that will help streamline the process. I have made an outline, downloaded the writing program Scrivener on my computer and cleared a lot of my other writing responsibilities for the month of November.
I also received some additional inspiration from Welch’s Juice last week. I just love when surprises show up on my doorstep. Happy mail makes for a happy day.
If I am going to be sitting for a long period of time every day, I don’t want to worry about stopping for silly things. Lunch and drinks should be pretty seamless. It is my goal to write at least 2500 words a day for 30 days. That would mean a 75,000 word novel. As writer Anne Lamott says, the first drafts are always shitty first drafts. But at least it would be a draft.
Then the editing process begins, which always takes the longest. But it is actually the part of writing I love the most.
Thanks to Welch’s, staying hydrated will be easy. The new juice options are less sugar and made with coconut water. Talk about healthy hydration! With each serving 100 calories, not getting a lot of exercise the month of November won’t add to my waistline! Thank goodness!
There is White Grape Mango and Tropical berry grape choices and you are going to love them! If you are a writer, I would love to know your NaNoWriMo preparation and how you make it successful.
