Mommy Son Date With IMSA Racing
Mommy Son Dates W/IMSA Racing
Finding anything that a lawyer/writer mother and her sports and car obsessed 8 year old can agree on is almost impossible. He wants to play basketball and watch car auctions and I would rather read and play board games. In order to find more Mommy Son dates for us to experience together, I was stoked to check out IMSA racing. Anything that let’s me hang out with this goober and not have to expound on my athletic deficiencies is always a win in my book.
IMSA Racing is all about high-tech, race cars from around the world. This is not just another stock car race. It has big name cars like Acura, Audi, Aston Martin, BMW, Cadillac, Ferrari, Ford, Lamborghini, Lexus, Mercedes, Nissan, and Porsche! IMSA combines different racing elements from F1, NASCAR and Indy car racing, but puts them all at one place at one time. This sounds like every car lovers dream and every parent, the opportunity to spend some targeted time.
In order to test out whether or not this might be a good bonding experience, I showed my son the IMSA website and he has officially lost his mind. There is a televised event this weekend, called the Sebring racing event. From March 15-18 (which just happens to be our Spring Break from school) live action racing can be found on station FS1 from 12:30pm-11pm, with the entire race broadcast on FOX Sports Go from 10:30am- 11:00pm.
So during this event, I am popping some popcorn, buying our favorite sodas and spending an afternoon connecting with my littlest one.
You can checkout the cars, the race schedule and learn more about the Sebring racing event this weekend, March 15-18 by heading to the IMSA racing Facebook Page. I will keep you posted on how it goes and how little guy and I do watching racing together for the first time!
